Friday Team Challenge – The Eland Olympics!

| 0 commentsLeave a comment

Team three took advantage of upcoming events by theming their fantastic evening of entertainment on The Eland Olympics! Providing cuisine from all over the world, including pancakes and maple syrup, olives and hummous, and some Pakistani Tapas that proved to be a hit!

The team put together a range of competitive games, and although they were slightly scaled down from the actual Olympics, shot putting, quoits and a three-legged race proved quite challenging enough for us.

Kim and Darren wowed us with their sporting prowess taking away the prizes for Best Sportswoman and Sportsman respectively.

With a fun-packed evening and some excellent nibbles, Team Three managed to swipe the lead from Team One with a score of 36.6!

Eland Cables has introduced two new products to its range. Firecel SR 114H Standard and Firecel SR 114E Enhanced are high quality fire performance cables, for use in fire detection systems, emergency lighting and fire alarms.

Manufactured by Cavicel in Milan, Italy, both cables are LPCB approved. Firecel 114H conforms to BS EN 50200 PH30/PH60, BS5839-1, BS7629-1, EN 50200 Annex E, and Firecel 114E confirms to BS EN 50200 PH120, BS5839-1, BS7629-1, BS8434-2.

The key difference between the two fire cables is their level of fire resistance; the 114H Standard conforms to PH30/PH60, which indicates that it can maintain circuit integrity for up to 30 or 60 minutes in a fire situation, whereas the 114E conforms to BE EN 50200 PH120, for situations where enhanced fire resistance is required.

Coffee and cake for a good cause

| 0 commentsLeave a comment

Macmillan Coffee MorningAt Eland Cables we never say no to a nice piece of cake and a good cup of coffee, so this month we put our elevenses to good use by taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’. With tasty treats provided by Mark Knowles, Chloe, Suzanne, Veronika, Ana, Jo Scott and Jo Rossiter, we all dug deep and in exchange for some goodies, and made a donation to the charity.

The spread was so impressive our elevenses lasted well into the afternoon, but it was all for a good cause, and the resulting sugar high made us a very cheerful office!
